I know it can feel like having your picture taking is akin to going to the dentist and I also know that the bodies we standardly see represented as sexy, powerful, and worthy rarely represent us - but that is EXACTLY why I wanted to create an epic experience that would leave you feeling confident, strong, magical, and like the damn bad ass you are. My team and I are excited that you are even considering trusting us with these fears, concerns, and vulnerabilities and I promise you we don't take that honor lightly. It is my pleasure to provide you a safe space and beautiful imagery to explore what it means to be YOU, a woman who is worthy of a self love experience.
I have built my "Empowerment Empire" to be a safe inclusive space for humans of all genders to explore their bodies and souls and have photographic evidence of their power & confidence! While I have received the nickname Tough Love Teri, I promise I will treat you with care! Be prepared for an amazing experience featuring some self love therapy & incredible imagery of yourself.

Personally, I strive to have my own photos taken 3-4 times a year by other boudoir photographers just so I can remember the feelings of anxiousness, excitement, nervousness, self doubt, and trust. I believe it’s very important for me to “walk the walk” so to speak - but also, let’s be honest, I love having bangin’ photos of myself around my house (and my husband doesn’t mind either!)

Our THP Experience sessions come with hair & makeup, not because we think you need it, but rather because nothing feels better than being taken care of by a styling team! That being said, if makeup isn't your thing and it will make you feel less like yourself, you are more than welcome to decline and opt for our THP Basic Session! We just want to ensure you are feeling photo ready and want to do whatever we can to make you feel amazing! Prior to getting your makeup done, we will talk about the type of makeup and styles that get you excited and you can feel free to bring in examples of what you are looking for and let our team do the rest. Our mission is to celebrate you as the kick ass woman you are, so our makeup and hair will be just to bring our your assets, but still keep you looking like your gorgeous self! During this hour and a half, we will help you relax and get rid of any last minute nerves by playing music that you like, providing you with beverages, and keep you smiling.
Wardrobe is one of the things that stress babes out the most
So, I'm going to make it pretty easy on you! I always say that wardrobe is just my way to get you naked! The best outfit you can have is literally the one you are blessed with: your lovely body! BUT if you want to play dress up, then here are a few of my favorite items to shoot and that work best in the studio:
Colors: Neutral colors (black, white, tan, nude, and blush) or dark colors (burgundy, navy, emerald, plum, gray)
Style: bodysuits, crop top/bra & panties, high waisted panties, tight fitting tank tops, tight fitting slip dresses, shaper slips, bralettes
Shoes: black heels are ideal IF and ONLY IF YOU want to wear them. I don't think your personality thrives in your shoes or feet, so I am okay with or without.
We don't want you to have to worry about your boudoir session, so upon booking your session, I will send you my Boudy Babe's Guide to Lingerie to help narrow down your options of what to wear. In addition to that, I have compiled hundreds of gorgeous pieces in all sizes to give you more options. I am a big believer that less is more when it comes to styling your sessions. Wear what makes YOU feel sexy, not what society might tell you is sexy. While you are being taken care of in hair & makeup, I will go through your items and determine which will be best for your shoot!
At the very least bring the following items to your shoot: black bra, black panties, and a nude or black thong.
POSING
I understand that you are not a professional model (though you will feel like it on the day of your shoot), but I AM a professional photographer! Trust me to help you show up the best! Boudoir is a luxury experience because you’re entrusting your body image, your self image, and your confidence with your photographer and that is not something to take lightly. This genre of photography requires skill in lighting, posing, and client care.
After photographing hundreds of clients just like you, I have made it my mission to help people find their confidence again by emphasizing the right look and make every person look their best! Regardless of size, shape, gender or otherwise, I will help you tell YOUR story and document you as you decide. This will make you think twice about saying negative things to your body ever again! Each year, I devote time and resources to studying more and more about how to make people look (and FEEL!) their best and achieve the emotional, raw sexiness that is prevalent in my work. In addition to the physical posing guidance, I will also work on helping you improve your body image and relationship with yourself. During your session, I will apply my expertise to make you look and feel like the bombshell you are!
Location, location, location
We are pleased to be able to provide you with an amazing studio space in the heart of downtown Winnipeg, located at 70 Arthur St Units. Our studio is made up of 2 spaces, featuring an amazing hair & makeup/wardrobe room for you to get comfortable and enjoy getting pampered.
Unit 570
Our first studio shares a space with our reveal room & office and features our elegant blue wall, a gorgeous wall of windows, and a velvet sofa that has been affectionately named The Emerald Goddess. This space has a more modern vibe and is more minimalist than the other studio.
UNIT 560
Our 2nd shooting space is what I like to call my "dream apartment" as it features our bed (with a variety of sheet options), our claw foot tub, and our neon light wall. Every now and then we build sets for our creative shoots, so you are more than welcome to incorporate elements of that into your personal session!
PHOTOSHOP
You can rest at ease knowing that our soul mission is that you fall in love with YOURSELF, and not a twisted, false version of you. This means that while we do take care to retouch out certain distractions (just the temporary ones that will usually fade in 2 weeks) and add a pop to your images, you will look like the fierce, glamazon that you are every day! It's important to us that you see yourself....ALL of yourself and learn to appreciate that you are capable of achieving awesomeness despite these things you think hold you back. That being said, we also understand that every babe is on her own journey and has her own comfortability level when it comes to retouching, so we have a scale for you to choose, from pre-touched (color changes) to retouched (color changes + skin retouching). The one thing I REFUSE to do with Photoshop, however, is to manipulate your body to reflect a different size than you actually are.
The Boudoir Experience
Pre-Shoot Preparation
Once you book your shoot, you'll receive our welcome email & packet with a prep guide, wardrobe guide, and contract to help us get ready for your shoot! When you arrive for your hair & makeup, we will show you some images to help you determine the look you want!
YOUR SESSION
Our shoots take place on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays (and the occasional friday!)
When you arrive at the studio, you will take the elevator to the 5th floor and make your way to the door which displays our body positivity sign on the door (Unit 570). This lets you know that we will do everything we can to get the negative voice out of your head while you're at your boudoir experience! It is our mission that you feel 100% comfortable in the studio, but also feel the vibe of empowerment as soon as you walk in the door.
If you opted for a THP Experience Session, you will settle in for hair & makeup, and I will go through the items that you brought and pull necessary pieces from the Boudy N' Beauty Wardrobe to help you look your best. While I am doing that, my pro stylist will chat with you about the exact look you are wanting and provide you with 3 "levels" to choose from. This way we can ensure that you look like yourself, but are ready to be on camera!! Be warned: It is A LOT more makeup than day to day makeup as it is "photo ready" so you may be taken aback, just PLEASE trust us that it will look perfect in the photos! If you opted for a THP Basic Session, then we will get straight to sorting out the wardrobe so we can get to shooting!
I want you to know that butterflies in the tummy are totally normal before a session, however, between chitchatting with us and music playing in the studio your nerves will have pretty much disappeared before we start shooting! Nerves just mean you care and are about to do something to help yourself grow as a person.
Once we start shooting, I will take over and continually give you direction and advise you on how to pose. My job as your boudoir specialist is to help you channel your inner confidence and bring out your sensual emotion. In addition to telling you how to pose, I will demonstrate for you! I understand that you are not a professional model (though you will feel like one), I AM a professional photographer and it is my job to make you look like fire, so trust in me and you will leave with amazing images!
When we are exhausted and empowered at the end of your session, we will determine a time for you to come back about 10 days later for your purchasing session! I will send you on your way with some fun stuff to help you remember your awesome boudy experience!
YOUR REVEAL SESSION
When you come back to the studio for your reveal and purchasing session, you will sit down with me to view your amazing photos! You will get to see yourself in the form of a beautiful slideshow set to music! But be forewarned: many clients tend to tear up after seeing themselves in a different light!
If you are from outside of Winnipeg, I will arrange a time for us to do a ZOOM reveal, so you still get my professional assistance in helping you choose your final art images!
It's not very often we love a lot of photos of ourselves, but I guarantee you will not have this problem at your reveal. Once we have your images decided, then we will determine how you want to present your images? Glorious album collection, digital files with unlimited printing, wall art? All 3? The sky's the limit, I just want to make sure you get what feels right for you!
Once your album proofs are done, I will send you an email and you can let us know if you want changes made! Whether you like the layout I have chosen or you want changes, I want the album to be perfect for you!
Your purchasing session is the last time that you will be able to pay for your beautiful art. I accept payment right at the studio in the form of cash, etransfer, or credit card and once your payment has been received, we will send your order off to be created! If you are looking to spread out your payments, I recommend opting for our Boudy Bank Account - a pre-payment option that allows you to spread out your cost for session + collection/products for up to 12 months BEFORE your session! You are also able to PRE-PAY in full for your collection to save 20%!! Ask us about this during your consultation!
When Will I Receive My Final Portrait Order?
You will receive your final order in 5 weeks or less. Your reveal will take place no later than 10 days after your session!! If you have a specific date that you need your photos by, let us know ahead of time and we will try to make that happen for you. PLEASE NOTE, WE RECOMMEND BOOKING YOUR SESSION 1-2 MONTHS IN ADVANCE AS WELL AS 6-8 WEEKS BEFORE YOU NEED YOUR IMAGES + ALBUM.
