The “What the F*ck Do I Wear?” Wardrobe Guide

For so long women have been told what they “should” wear to be sexy, what they “need” to look like to be loved, and what they “shouldn’t” do in order to be respected - well, here at THP Studios, I say fuck that. This is THE place where you can lean into being the best version of yourself whatever that looks like to you. I don’t want to make you into someone you are not and I want to help you celebrate all of the quirks and loveliness that makes you YOU. This guide is more to provide you with expectations in regards to my shooting space, the set designs, and the overall vibe of my sessions so you can make sure it is, in fact, the right fit for you!

I want you to know that this session is less about your wardrobe and more about you, but I understand the anxiety of not knowing what to wear is prevalent. Pretty much every client has expressed their concern about what they should wear for their boudoir experience, so I am here to steer you in the right direction.

THINGS I WON’T SHOOT

While this may sound harsh, I think it’s important to set these expectations up front. In my experience the following items are usually brought in an effort to dress up for someone else or to distract from the body and I am not here for it. Even if your partner gets the privilege of seeing these images afterwards this experience is only about you, first and foremost.

*JERSEYS: they are big, bulky and you are not a product, my dear. Unless you wear a jersey often and it makes YOU feel sexy, we won’t be utilizing it. You deserve to show off your assets ;) If you still want to rep your favorite sport team, I recommend getting a small tshirt or tank top/crop top.

*MEN'S SHIRTS: they are unflattering and difficult to pose on most body types. In addition to that, we are doing this session for YOU and while your partner may get the photos at the end, he is just privileged enough to see your amazing body! If you like the idea of the classic white shirt, opt for a woman’s fitted sheer fabric white shirt instead.

*CORSETS: these limit posing immensely and while they make the waist look cinched, everything else has to go somewhere. 1 wrong move and your boob will fall into your face or armpit.

Our studio is comprised of 4 main shooting areas and while all of them are open to slight interpretation, this guide is to help you decide on fabric, mood, and vibe to get the most out of this experience!

This set is one of the most popular boudoir sets because it is reminiscent of a quaint apartment, rolling around in luxe satin sheets, and embracing the gloriousness that is your skin as you lounge about.

The classic bedroom is the perfect place to don your homey lingerie sets/comfy wear or better yet, nothing at all. This set is perfect to channel your girl next door vibe mixed with casual comfort. Think: tank tops, rompers, cheeky panties, bralettes, cotton bodysuits, silk robes and chunky sweaters/cardigans. This set is currently comprises of pastel colors, but we can transition it to a more sensual vibe with a simple sheet change. Embrace your inner Marilyn with the classic bedroom set.

Featuring our Emerald Goddess sofa, the Moody Set is designed to channel your inner vixen, your saucy fox, your sex kitten. Bring me your jewel tones, your black lingerie with thigh highs and sexy red bottom heels, and prepare to arch, bend, and smoulder.

The Moody Set is perfect for all things SEXY, SENSUAL, BOLD, and RICH. With textures of velvet and sheens of gold set against our dark teal wall, you are going to become part of the luxurious world we’ve created. Whether you are striking a power pose in front of our big windows, arching over the velvet couch, or preening yourself in front of our beautiful big mirror, you are going to feel like the sensual goddess you are. Ideal wardrobe includes anything black, jewel tones (navy, emerald, burgundy, plum, magenta, grey, etc.), and gold and this is where we will play up your sexiest fantasies. Think: sleek bodysuits, cheeky thongs, detailed bra and panty sets, foxy stilettos or thigh high boots.

Get ready to be transported into another world with our iconic Neon Jungle set. Featuring multiple colored lights we are able to create the bright, colorful fantasies of your dreams! Anything shiny or sparkly will be perfect here!

The Neon Jungle is one of the most iconic studio locations in Winnipeg where you are able to make your music video fantasies come to life! This set features our faux shower set in addition to a wall of color for you to dance, touch, feel, and groove in. Using color we are able to create super high fashion images that look like you stepped out of a magazine or video shoot and are ready for your close up. Due to the lighting, this set works best with colors like black, white, or shiny gold/silver. Think: satin, leather, pleather, spandex, sequin, glitter, or oiled up and ready to play! For specific wardrobe pieces, bathing suits work well here, as well as anything slightly over the top like fur jackets, diamond necklaces or body chains, shiny bodysuits, sparkly thigh highs or heels, strappy bra and panty sets, and anything you might find yourself rocking in the middle of a Miami nightclub!

Every QUARTER we create a new set to capture our current fetishes and desires. Our upcoming set design is rooted in the idea of maximalizm with rich colors, tones, and textures.

Our current Limited Set is serving fierce Maximalism vibes featuring rich tones of aqua, mustard, burgundy, and gold. This set is the perfect compliment for wardrobe that is on the more basic side OR on the over the top side. This set is for the relaxed vibes, transporting you to a European apartment or Bali boho apartment with curious textures and designs. Think: Calvin Klein underwear sets, ribbed white tank tops and bikini bottoms with oiled up skin, or a magenta tulle skirt with a silk red bralette. From the very basic to the very vibrant, this set can do it all - just like you.

While we encourage you to bring a handful of things, please know that we also keep our studio wardrobe stocked with over 100 pieces ranging from xxs-6XL+ so that everyone can experience the thrill of dress up. Now, the things we carry in our studio are things you probably won’t find in a traditional Winnipeg closet: maribou trimmed robes, full sequin kimonos, faux fur jackets, glitter boots, couture dresses, shit, we even have a 9 ft cape with glitter stars! We want this to be a place where you get to explore your most magestical fashion fantasies!
