From Neon To Natural ~ Winnipeg Boudoir Photography

As I’m putting this together I’m watching Atomic Blonde, so I figured it was as good time as any to blog this neon creative shoot I did with Jill. It’s movies LIKE Atomic Blonde & music videos like Cool for the Summer & 7 Rings that get me amped up about color theory and lighting with only colors to make a scene! It’s not always easy and sometimes it’s incredibly frustrating, but it’s so much fun when I can create something that looks like it was in a beautiful, bright, expressive environment. Jill and I shot these to have some content for our upcoming Neon Mini Sessions in November, but I also wanted to show that with the exact same set you can change the entire aesthetic by simply changing HOW you light it. The first section of photos are from the neon version and the second half of the images were shot on the same set, but with natural light! Understanding how to add in different styles of light allows a photographer to maximize their space and provide multiple options to their clients - but also to themselves! If you are a photographer and want to add some fun lighting to your repetoire, feel free to check out my course on lighting:

If you just want to check out the images and see the difference between the neon and natural, keep on scrolling!
