The end of 2016 is almost here, so I am wrapping up all of my sessions & 2016 blog posts over the next week! Get excited for a plethora of hotties over the next few days! First up is the gorgeous Miss S, whom I met when I went to Omaha last year! I went to attend an awesome leadership conference, but as usual, when I travel I love to shoot! I put a shout out to all the boudy photogs I know and Miss S responded, saying she would meet me at the hotel. This grogeous babe showed up with some lovely pieces (the top one I am actually wearing as I write this....) and it was a lot of fun shooting another photographer! This babe brought all the sex and sensuality required for her session and knocked it outta the park. Next year I am heading back to Omaha in July, so if you are wanting to score yourself a kick ass shoot, let me know and we can sort out the details! In any event, check out the fabulousness that is Miss S!
She Left On a High ~ Winnipeg Boudoir Photography
As 2016 comes to a close, I am looking back at all of the babes that I had the pleasure of photographing, learning from, and empowering. While I haven't been able to share all of their stories due to privacy, I can guarantee you that ALL of them are inspirational, bad ass babes ready to rock 2017! For today's post, I am featuring Miss N, who came out to help me with our promo shoot last summer. Her story and message is extremely inspiring as 2016 was her year to "find herself" and this session was part of that adventure. Miss N describes her experience as "fun and exhilarating. I left the studio on a high. The week I had to wait to see my pictures was painfully long, but in the end so worth the wait. I was blown away. It was a great experience and I get to keep the memories forever."Take a look at her photos below and be sure to check out her interview during our video at the bottom of the post!!
Empowering Emerald {curvy inspiration session} ~ Winnipeg Boudoir Photographer
EEEEE!!! I am beyond stoked for everything that is coming down the pipe for 2017! One of the coolest things, is that myself and my cohort Lindsay Rae of Lindsay Rae Photography in New York are co-hosting a variety of workshops specializing in photographing women with curves and creating curves for those babes who are more athletically built! A side effect of our awesome niche, is that we also both utilize the same premium album company to provide our clients with gorgeous, long lasting products for our clients to preserve their gorgeous images and therefore, we have created our own album line coming out next year called Confident Curves. To get one of the samples made, I threw together a kick ass shoot with the gorgeous Miss C (who has been featured a few times on the site!) to celebrate our Empowering Emerald cover - a gorgeous "crocodile" looking leather cover in emerald. This is only ONE of a multitude of gorgeous covers that will be coming in the new year with a variety of confidence-inspiring names! But anyhow, let's get to the goods! Check out this epic inspiration session shoot with Miss C, inspired by the dark hues of the winter season: burgundy, eggplant, and emerald. A lot of the outfits you will see come from Adore Me!! PS. You will also see Miss C as the cover girl of our 2017 Welcome Packages!!
Body Positive Advent ~ Winnipeg Boudoir Photographer
Well, shit....It's December. When the heck did that happen??? It feels like we were just finishing up our New Years Eve shoot that finished off 2015...phew! The holiday season is interesting because as much as it is filled with "joy", diet culture has also told us to be full of "guilt" over what we eat & drink and that is no way to live a body positive lifestyle, let me tell you!! This whole "I hate myself because I ate a piece of pie" bullshit that starts in Thanksgiving and pretty much carries over until you purchase a too expensive gym membership that you will use quite a bit for two weeks, but then fall back into old habits, is getting pretty old if you ask me. Now, I am not bashing those who want to maintain a balance with their body, but it shouldn't be such a love/hate/guilt/shame relationship that many of us have....it should be a "I ate and drank quite a bit last night. My body deserves better because I don't want to get sick this holiday season, so I will take it easy until the next party comes along." This sounds like a healthier conversation than the one where we are crying about our weight into sticky toffee pudding. Maybe it's just me.....but if it's not, I wanted to throw together a body positive advent calendar to kind of keep those negative conversations at bay and help you truly have a joyful holiday season and give thanks for the kick ass body you do have, whatever point in your journey you are at!I urge you to do some of, if not all of these things to keep you in a positive mindset when it comes to our body relationships. Like everything else around the holidays, traditions are incredibly common, but one tradition I hope to change is the one where we shame ourselves into feeling like a bag of shit because we ate 3 Turtles! I hope you laugh, cry, hug, kiss, and appreciate the time you have this holiday season and my team and I wish you the very best! I am off to a sunny destination for the first week of December, but I will be back after that and I hope to see many of you bad ass babes feeling strong, beautiful, and empowered! Happy December!
Kintsukuroi ~ Winnipeg Empowerment Photography
For the month of November, I did an Empowerment Project featuring babes and the stories that are imprinted upon their skin in the form of scars, stretch marks, and so on. I came up with this concept after coming across a meme about the Japanese art of repair, using gold to fuse the broken pieces together, thus making it more beautiful.I invited these babes into the studio and while I painted over their skin, they told me their stories about what brought them in and that is what you will see below. You can also check out our other Empowerment Projects here!
